We will learn three ways to express the feelings "I like it," "I can do it," and "I want it." They are often used when talking about yourself.
Basic Rules
"I like ..." means "I like ...," "I can ..." means "I am able to ...," and "I want ..." means "I want ...." A noun often comes after like and want, while a verb comes after can. As in "I can swim," use the base form of the verb after can.
I like music.
I can play the piano.
I want a new bike.
I can't swim well.
注意
Always use the base form of a verb after can. Do not add s as in "I can plays." To say that you cannot do something, use can't, a shortened form of cannot. You can also put "to + verb" after want. Use this form to say that you want to do something, as in "I want to eat pizza."
- I like ... = I like ...
- I can + base form of a verb = I can ...
- I want ... / I want to + verb = I want ... / I want to ...
- Cannot: I can't ...
