Let's Talk About Giving Directions and Daily Life in English

We will learn how to ask for directions, such as "Where is ...?" and how to talk about what we do every day.

Basic Rules

Ask "Where is ...?" to find out where something is. To answer, use expressions such as "Turn left," "Turn right," and "Go straight." When talking about your daily routine, add a word that shows time after the verb, as in "I get up at 7." Use the form "at + time" when saying a time.

Example Sentences
Where is the station?— Go straight and turn right.
I get up at 7 a.m.
I go to bed at 9 p.m.

注意

When giving directions, use direction words (left, right, straight) together with place words (station, park, school, hospital, and so on). When talking about your daily routine, it is useful to remember words for everyday actions, such as get up, go to school, have lunch, and go to bed. Distinguish between a.m. and p.m. when telling the time.

Key Points
  • Ask for directions: Where is ...?
