Conversations such as "I like ..." and "Do you like ...?" are often used to become friendly with friends.
Basic Rules
Say "I like ..." to express "I like ..." Add a favorite food, sport, animal, or other thing after it. Ask "Do you like ...?" To answer, say "Yes, I do." or "No, I don't."
I like dogs.
Do you like soccer?— Yes, I do.
I don't like natto.
注意
When you say that you do not like something, use "I don't like ..." Don't is a shortened form of do not. When talking about two or more animals, sports, or other things, you often add s, as in dogs instead of dog (as in I like dogs.). The first goal is to be able to say the things you like in English.
- Like: I like ...
- Do not like: I don't like ...
- Question: Do you like ...?
- Answers: Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
