比較を使った最上級の表現
最上級は the most / -est を使わずに、比較級・原級・否定文で表すこともできます。書き換えのパターンを整理します。
基本ルール
「Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan.」の書き換え：
① 比較級 + than any other + 単数名詞：「Mt. Fuji is higher than any other mountain in Japan.」
② No other + 名詞 + is as ~ as（原級）：「No other mountain in Japan is as high as Mt. Fuji.」
③ No other + 名詞 + is + 比較級：「No other mountain in Japan is higher than Mt. Fuji.」
④ 比較級 + than all the other + 複数名詞：「Mt. Fuji is higher than all the other mountains in Japan.」
📘 例文
Health is more important than anything else.（健康は他の何よりも大切だ）
Nothing is as precious as time.（時間ほど貴重なものはない）
He is the last person to tell a lie.（彼は最も嘘をつきそうにない人だ）

注意点
① any other の後は単数名詞：「higher than any other mountain（× mountains）」
② all the other の後は複数名詞：「higher than all the other mountains」
③ one of the + 最上級 + 複数名詞：「one of the most important issues」← 複数名詞に注意。
④ the last 人/物 to V：「最も〜しそうにない」「He is the last person to betray his friends.」
