Let's learn to say our dreams in English, such as "I want to be ... in the future." This expression is also often used for self-introductions in junior high school.
Basic Rules
Say "I want to be ..." to express "I want to become ...." Be is the base form of the verb meaning "to become" or "to be," and a job name comes after it. Use it as in "I want to be a teacher." To explain why you want to become something, connect your reason using because.
I want to be a doctor.
I want to be a teacher because I like children.
What do you want to be?
注意
When saying a job, put a / an before the noun (a doctor, an artist). Use an before words that begin with a vowel sound. To give a reason, put a sentence (subject + verb) after because. "Dreams for the future" can also be expressed as "future dream" or "dream for the future."
